As a gun owner and member of the NRA, I have done and will do everything I can to ensure that the federal government does not infringe on the right to bear arms. The right to bear arms is not only enjoyed by millions of Americans for recreation, but our Founders recognized that it was critical to include this right as the Second Amendment to our Constitution in order to allow individuals to protect themselves, their families, and properties.
I am committed as Arizona’s representative to blocking any and all attempts by anti gun advocates in the Obama Administration or the United Nations from infringing on these rights. Constitutional rights are not to pick and choose from, or to go in and out of fashion. I will continue to be a strong voice for Second Amendment freedoms.
During my first term, I was a cospsonsor for a bill to allow concealed carry reciprocity across state lines and have also worked with the National Rifle Association to sponsor and advocate forcefully for many of their priorities on behalf of lawful gun owners. I have also taken the lead to correct a loophole in federal regulation that allows the Corps of Engineers to ban firearms on their water construction projects and will continue to fight for continuity and certainty in the law.
